Can you make a custom sign?
Yes, all of our signs are personalized and custom made. If
you have any special requests for a sign, please email us directly
and we will do our best to accommodate your request, sometimes
for a small up charge.
Can I have my sign engraved?
No, all of our signs are hand stenciled with paint, not engraved.
What are your signs made of?
All of our classic signs are made of 100% pine and our shaped signs,
such as the ovals shapes and circle shapes are made out of MDF
which is a wood derivative. All of our paints and stains
we use are water-based so they will not harm the environment.
What is your favorite sign?
My favorite sign is the Family Sign, which is also the most popular
sign. It is perfect for gifts as well as a necessary item
for all homes!
How long does it take to make my sign?
Once we receive your order we begin working on your sign, first
through our stenciling process and then through hand-crafting
the finished item. Typically all signs are shipped out
of our wood shop within 2-3 weeks. All orders are shipped via
UPS ground service.
How long will my sign last?
If kept indoors, your sign should last a lifetime with proper care
in an area where it hung or set atop a piece of furniture or
mantel.
Can signs be hung outdoors?
Many of our customers do use signs on covered porches. We
always suggest that signs be coated with a weather proofing product
you can purchase at your neighborhood home store to help withstand
the elements.
What if I goof on the personalization and need my sign
redone?
Unfortunately, we cannot “fix” signs once they are
stenciled we ask all of our customers to use caution when ordering
and make sure to double check name spellings as well as dates on
signs.
How do you make my sign?
We use a 5 step process to make each sign in our wood shop. The
process involves painting the raw material, stenciling, sanding,
distressing and staining the final product. Each sign is
personally made, by hand, and every sign is unique in appearance
as they are hand-crafted.
What is your return policy?
Because the signs are personalized, it is your responsibility for
the information to be presented and spelled correctly. We
are not responsible for the wording being correct. However, if
the sign is damaged in the shipping process, Barb’s Wood
Signs will replace it at no charge.
